The fungal infection commonly called ringworm is often seen on dogs, cats or even children. Ringworm infection is also called Tinea and the fungus can be spread to others by means of direct contact. Pets can spread Tinea among themselves or even transmit the infection to humans.

Ticks and mites belong to the same subclass. The name of this common species is otodectes cynotis. This mite chooses to live within the ears of various animals. Transmission of these ear mites can happen just by animals walking by one another.

Ear mites are a very common problem in domestic cats. In multiple cat households often each cat will be infested as they are easily spread.
