When you are trying to lose weight, it can seem like an uphill battle. The reason for this is that your body is fighting back against you every step of the way, trying to force you to eat and return to your normal eating habits. It equates weight loss with starvation and death.

Now, you would be right if you thought that there’s no way you are going to starve your body to death, but the fact is that your body does not know this. In fact, it knows nothing – it can’t think, like your mind can, so it just acts on reflexes and impulses.

So, what does it do when you start to put it into starvation mode (by dieting)? By reducing your calories, you are trying to make the body burn fat to use as energy.

But the first thing your body does is reduce the rate it burns energy at. This makes sense from a survival point of view – it’s just a matter of making the fat go further. But this means that you may not be losing as much weight as you should, and also that you are going to feel sluggish and bad.

A big temptation that can lead to a lot of trouble is to use calorie burning diet pills. The ads for these products make them seem completely safe, but the reality is that they can cause a lot of harm. Sometimes they contain dangerous stimulants that force the body to burn energy at an alarming rate. This can make you feel good and lose weight fast, but the side effects of these drugs can cause serious permanent damage to the body.

There is a way around it – you need to trick your body into thinking that it’s eating more than it really is! This will make it raise its metabolism, instead of lowering it. Then, you can lose weight faster, and will not feel so sluggish or bad.
